When you quit cigarettes your body will have yearnings as you will be addicted to the chemical in them which is nicotine. This addiction is physical and the cravings can be extremely off putting until you have a smoke.
There is no chemical addiction in Marijuana, people actually become accustomed to the “high” feeling from smoking it, so therefore this is a psychological addiction. The body will not have the same yearnings and the reason for it being hard to quit is because you don’t want subconsciously.
